About Tim Ritter

A native of Springfield, Missouri, award-winning author Tim Ritter discovered writing and public speaking early in life. By age 13, his writings included poetry, two children’s adventure books, several plays and a comic strip which eventually found its way to his junior high school newspaper. He also discovered that he liked being on stage, and how people tended to listen when he spoke into a microphone.

Throughout his 29-year professional career as a mechanical engineer, Tim wrote articles for trade magazines and was the featured speaker at hundreds of seminars across the country.

Tim lives outside Fair Grove, Missouri, with his wife, Lisa, writing full time and speaking to civic groups and organizations on a variety of topics. In addition to being past president of the Springfield Writers Guild, he is a member of Sleuths’ Ink Mystery Writers, the historical societies for Douglas, Christian, and Polk Counties in Missouri, Ozarks Genealogical Society, and the Poe Studies Association. He is also a board member for the Between the Pages Writing Conference in Springfield, Missouri.

Tim can be contacted via this website, and can be found on Facebook as Author Tim Ritter, on Instagram as authortimritter, and Youtube as TimothyRitter.

  1. Best wishes on your release of Sarah Burning! I just received my copy….starting it tonight…to be continued my friend!

  2. I haven’t read a complete book since “Lord of the Flies” in 1977 in high school English. After about 10 hours over 4 days, I finished Sarah Burning yesterday, and now I’m hooked on reading about local history. Sarah Burning is a must read! Tim’s grandmother, Sarah, along with all of his family that was affected by this tragedy, will rest in peace with his awesome story of their lives.
I can’t wait to meet him, and look forward to seeing him speak. He has an amazing talent of bringing history alive.
Thanks Tim for rescuing this reader!
